HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE


When i watched Twilight they showed this preview among others and i thought it was funny when at the end of the preview it said JULY 2009. It was originally supposed to come out this November but the release date was pushed back to July 17, 2009. We have to wait another 7 whole months!?!? ughhhh, i've loved every single harry potter movie and i can't wait for this one to come out. In this movie Harry starts to like Ginny, Ron's sister so im really excited as to how they're gonna play that out. And Ron likes another girl which is kinda dissapointing because i wish Ron and Hermione got together, when is Hermione gonna get a man!?!

Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe

Mortal Kombat was always fun to play and im really excited for this new game to come out. IT has new characters like the joker which im really excited for and there are a bunch of new moves. This game is definelty on my x-mas list =)

THE SPIRIT


VALKYRIE



Both of these movies come out on Christmas Day and I'm exited to see which one makes more money. I personally think that The Sprit will make more money. The people who made 300 and Sin City made this movie and Sin City is one of my favorite movies. I love the way the colors look on screen and the plot of the movie. Samuel L. Jackson and Eva Mendez star in the movie so i bet it will be a good one. I don't know much about Valkyrie but its pretty much about the nazis and hitler. Tom Cruise is in it so i bet it will be good too.

Twilight

I never read the books or anything but i loved this movie! it's a vampire movie and a love story at the same time, after watching this movie i definetly want to read the rest of the books. Edward and his family are vampires that dont drink blood. they eat wolves instead. Edward has been living for over 100 years and he finally meets the love of his life. They are really meant to be. When i went to the movie theater it was full of teenager girls and they went crazy when edward went on the screen, it was pretty funny. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes fantasy mvoies =)

L4D

Left 4 Dead is a brand new game that came out this week. My boyfriend has been playing the demo was pretty excited for the actual game to come out. I tried out the demo and i have to say it was pretty fun. Zombie games aren't usually the type of game i like to play but i like it. It was also on the PC and i haven't played a game on the computer. L4D also came out for Xbox but i guess theres more bonus options on the PC. Anyway, the game came out and i love it. The plot of the game is that zombies are running wild in CA. There are 4 players and they key of the game is to stick together. Playing online with people from everywhere is so much fun. There are 10 weapons to chose from and 4 different levels each with about 5 chapters. There are 4 difficulty levels you can chose from, i pick advanced. :) It is a pretty violent game as you are swarmed by hordes of zombies. If you are a gamer, i suggest you try and play this game.

TRL CANCELLED & MTV

The show that i grew up watching was cancelled two days ago. FINALLY. i hated what MTV turned Total Request Live into. It aired in 1998 for the first time and it was all about the music. As time went on they started showing less and less music videos. They started bringing in movie stars and reality stars into the show to talk about stuff thats not even related to music. I liked Carson Daly but then they changed VJ's. I stopped watching MTV about a year ago because it started show more and MORE reality tv. I don't like watching Paris Hilton find a new friend. I dont like watching kids trying to get rich an famous on some show 50 cent came up with. And i deffinetly dont like watching rich snobby kids throwing a party for their 16th birthday party. I'll start watching mtv again when its Music TeleVision.

cnn

On November 4th i was at home sick so i watched cnn pretty much the entire day switching back forth to different channels. Anyway, on CNN Wolf Blitzer was talking to a lady named Jessica that was projected into a hallogram. She described how it was made. They used 35 cameras that were set in a circle around her body to show her entire body. They also used 20 computers to make the hallogram come to life. I love how technology is getting better and better. We are in a time where we are going to see so many new technological advances and im so excited to see what they all are.

my voting experience

i got to vote for the first time ever this year. i didn't go to the polls because i didn't want to have to deal with a line or malfunctions or any problems so i got a mail in ballot. i was a lil overwhelmed when i read some of the ammendments. i didn't even understand what some meant so i didn't vote for all of them. all i cared about was ammendment 48 which luckily didn't pass and OBAMA WON! i feel like my vote counted and if he runs again next year i am deffinetly voting for him again.

McCain at DHS????

At around 9am today i get a text that says, "So ummm mccain is gonna be at dhs this friday nite" my response is, "what???". immediatly I google and sure enough he is. The admission is free, there's no need for tickets but you should RSVP for seats, first come first serve. I unfortunatly have to work. i dont wanna go to support McCain. i want to go to protest! i've never had the chance to vote and now that the republican canidate is coming i want to protest it. I've never even protested before but i think it would be fun and an experience to remember.

My friend Annie and I were talking about this and why would he go to Durango High School? wouldn't there be alot more room up at the fort? but annie said that McCain is too scared because Fort Lewis is a pretty liberal school. Which is true(the school being liberal part) i only know about 2 kids here that are voting for McCain. I have no idea if he's scared or not, but he should be...

Eva Mendes

tsk tsk tsk.. Eva Mendes is the Calvin Klein girl and in her most recent ad she exposed a nipple! The ad is banned from the US for its racy content. In the commercial shes naked and rolling on a bed and she shows her "ta-ta's". well.. one of them. But even the posters are a bit scandalous. I dont think its necessary for her to be naked in a perfume ad. It's way too sexual for young kids to look at. The 30 second video doesnt make sense to me and its way too much. I won't post it on here but its out there if you want to find it. want to learn more?

parmesan cheese

RECALLED! i work at Papa Murphy's and on friday night we had to pull our parmesan cheese from the shelves. We couldn't use it on a couple pizzas and on some salads. Here is why: "Presence of Listeria monocytogenes detected, which may cause illness in pregnant women, the very young, the elderly and people with low immune systems."



So now you know why you should eat parmesan cheese right now!

Heroes

The 3rd season i believe came out this fall and my roomate got me really into it. i didn't watch much of the first two seasons but its still entertaining. Its basically about these people who have supernatural powers who are trying to save the world or humanity itself. Some can fly, can make fire, can read your mind, can freeze things, and some have the power to regenerate. Claire is the cheerleader who can regenerate her cells. Hiro can time travel, manipulate time, and teleport. Syalr is my favorite character even though he is evil. He has intuitive aptitude which means he can learn new powers. This show is kind of complicated but i had my roomate fill me in on all that i missed. plus i saw some of season 2. It's a pretty sweet show because of the special affects. Every monday night at 8 i sit in front of the tele to watch this crazy show but i love it.

Max Payne

oh marky mark has made another movie! This friday Max Payne comes out and you can bet on me watching it that night. The movie is based off of the video game. i never played it but my boyfriend was telling me how it was one of his favorite games. I don't want to ruin the movie but its about Max's family was murdered and he's trying to find the murderer...in a nut shell. i wont go into detail. Of course the gorgeous Mark Wahlberg plays Max payne. Mila Kunis is also in it who stars in the 70's show and plays Megs voice in family guy; Ludacris is also in it and Jaime Hector who also is in Heroes <3. i hope im not dissapointed when i leave the theater, i doubt i will be. im so excited!!

O.J Simpson

First he was "innocent" for murdering his wife and her friend, then he wrote a book called "If I Did It" which is about how he killed his wife, hypothetically that is... and they can't put him back into court because of the doule jepardy law. So he gets away with murder then he is found guilty on 12 charges for robbery and kidnpapping. how stupid is this guy? wouldn't you think after he gets away with something once you wouldn't get away with it the second time? im glad this murderer is once and for all being put away forever.

movie ratings

I really liked This Film Is Not Yet Rated because he the movie showed every possible detail about the MPAA. Its rediculous that everyone wants to be anonymous and the only other group out there like that is the CIA. I didn't like how they choose the NC-17 rating over the R rating at times. I've seen some really gross stuff in a rated R movie like in the Scary Movie series and compare that to some of the scenes we saw in a NC-17 movie, its not that bad. I've actually never even seen a NC-17 movie because they don't usually make it the to the theater which sucks. Then the directors have to spend more time editing things out so they can get an R rating. and my favorite part was when they named everyone in the MPAA

Photoshop

I've never used Photoshop but its crazy that we can completely change how someone looks on this software. They retouch on everything! make eyes bigger, lips bigger, change how skin looks, they don't keep very much at all like how it used to look. Yeah, it looks better, but that's not how people really look, flawless all the time, that's not real. Every picture that goes into a magazine gets retouched and young girls all over the world look at this "beauty" that they see and its all fake. It's just frustrating to know that natural beauty isn't enough anymore.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

This movie came out before i was even born and i love it!! Typically kid who doesn't want to go to school so he pretends who's sick. He slimes his way through everything that comes at him. He helps his girlfriend ditch school and drags his friend (who really IS sick) and they go to the museum. They also go to a baseball game, a parade, and get into a fancy restaurant by pretending he was someone else. This movie is so funny! I think Ferris' sister Jeanie is pretty funny. She just tries to get him in trouble and she ends up at the police station making out with some guy (Charlie Sheen) who looks like hell, haha!The principle, Ed Rooney, is also trying to catch him in the act and he ends up getting attacked by and car and having his car towed. Silly Man. Of course Ferris gets away with it. If you haven't already seen this movie, you should.

Greg Mortenson

Last Thrusday I went to the Greg Mortenson speech at the school, along with like 2000 other people. I really liked his book because all this man wants to do is promote peace and help children in the middle east. Going into tthe gym i was expecting the speech to be boring because my friend had told me that he is a very shy speaker therefore making his speech's not so good. but i really liked him, he made us all laugh, the only thing i didn't like is that you can tell that he's said that speech so many times before he came to the fort. i was looking at videos on youtube and he said the same sentences but added some different things. Reading his book made me want to help others too. He just stumbled onto this little town called Korphe and he promsed them that he would build them a school. He also help build a bridge and a center for women. He listens and cares about those people and that's what i like about Greg Mortenson.

Greg is very compassionate and helpful and i wish alot more people in the world were like him. I liked listening to his cause. It's crazy how much money was given to Pennies for Peace that night!

Sarah Palin

So the more and more I hear about Sarah Palin, the more i come to dislike her. I first heard about her maybe like a month ago and she's the vice president for McCain. Whoa.. a woman vice president? crazy. Then I heard that she is totally against abortion and I'm for abortion. Why shouldn't women have the right to do whatever they want to their body, she's not for womens rights? I dont really understand. I dont even know much about politics either but this election i'm very interested. Then we watched that video in class yesterday and she wanted to ban books!? Who is this lady??? Some mayor of some little town in Alaska, how did she become the V.P? Why would you want to ban books? If you dont want to read them, dont. Don't ban them from children because you think they're "unnaceptable". Let children decide on their own, they have minds.

If you watch it, he talks about Sarah Palin thinking that dinosaurs were alive 4,000 years ago! This lady could run our country one day because I doubt McCain will live his 4 year term. I really dont want this woman running our country.

CERN and the LHC

On the way to California my friends and i got to talking and Mitchell starts talking about CERN. CERN stands for European Organization for Nuclear Research and they built a Large Hadron Collider. So the LHC is this huge particle accelerator and it was built so it can collide protons at a very high speed. CERN is doing this so they can confirm the existence of the Higgs Bonson which a missing link in the Standard Model and it explains how particles acquire its mass.

So they built this massive circular tube into the earth on the border of France and Switzerland and they sent the first protons into the tube on Sept. 10 2008. About 7,000 scientists from 80 countries have access and cost around 6.4 billion dollars. People are afraid that one day this will cause a black hole in the earth or destroy our world, but CERN says that there's no way any of those things will happen.

I wasn't aware of this until a couple days ago and it really got me thinking. What if something goes wrong with that experiment, could it only destroy Europe or will it destroy everything? These scientists have spent so much money and time into building this thing and it would really be devastating if something went wrong. This experiment is supposed to last for a few years so they can gather enough information. I wonder what they will find out if this really does work? Can they figure out if there are extra dimensions and if they can detect them? This project can open so many doors into the future and I'm just curious as to what they will find. Hopefully they don't blow us all up...

Nocturnal Festival 2008

I finally leave tomorrow morning! Colten(my boyfriend), Mitchell (my roomie), Joe and I are headed off to California tomorrow morning, this is what i've been waiting for all summer. We're mainly going to a concert called Nocturnal Festival ,it's the 14th year is been going on. There's gonna be fire twirlers, stilt walkers, aerial performs plus i get to listen to Infected Mushroom live! There's like 6 stages with a performer every hour or so, i've never even heard of some of these DJ's theres so many. This is my first time going to any concert and I've never been so excited in my life. I can't even imagine the things we will be able to do. There's going to be rides and so many more attractions other than the music. A camera is a must.

I get to go back to California where I was born and raised and see some of my family and my best friend. I get to show my boyfriend and my friends where i grew up (which I'm excited about since I live where they grew up). We're also gonna go to La Jolla beach (my favorite) and to a theme park, I'm not sure which one yet though. Maybe Disneyland? It's the happiest place in the world!... but i'll have some convincing to do since ill be with 3 boys. haha! But we get to do whatever we want while we're in Cali, the world is ours.
